We were at the Cigar Room at the San Reyes Hotel, enjoying some cigars. The hotel is very beautiful, the facilities are very nice, but the service and the staff leave a lot to be desired. We ordered a mezcal margarita. They served it in the wrong type of glass — in a small dessert glass. On top of that, it was only the sour mix or lime juice. It had absolutely no mezcal at all. When we asked the bartender about it, he simply said, “I put it in the glass,” even though three of us at the table checked it and there was clearly no alcohol. They didn’t bother to double-check it, verify it, or try to find any way to fix it or make things right for us as customers. Honestly, the hotel is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but it definitely needs improvement when it comes to service. We also ordered some cigars and asked for a cigar punch, and they didn’t have one available either. That’s a minor detail, but regarding the drinks, they should really hire more professional and better-trained staff, especially with a true sense of customer service. We pay the price they charge, and the least we expect is that our money is respected and that the quality the brand is known for is delivered. We honestly felt a bit disappointed

The resort is absolutely gorgeous- elements of brutalist stonework intermixed with lush flora and teeming with natural materials. Service is also generally good. We stayed in a room that has a private swim out patio leading to a larger communal lagoon/pool, which was so much fun! The main reason it doesn’t get more than three stars is that the food and drinks are craaaaazy expensive and extremely middling. St Regis is known for their Bloody Marys, but our bartender had to ask his co-worker how to make it. Lunch for two was $220 USD. Seriously! The wagyu tartare was chunky and had a lot of hard cartilage in it. The wagyu hamburger was meh. The fish tacos were super tough and chewy. Ew.

We spent a few days over NYE and we had a fantastic time. The resort is stunning, very nicely decorated. I love the scent of the St. Regis brand. It gives it an extra dimension to your experience. Also the service is excellent. The team really goes out of their way to assist you. A special shout out to Carlina at the Marola restaurant. She went the extra mile to get me my favorite food in DR. She is so friendly and warm. It made all the difference. I’d definitely return!

We booked a 5 night stay arriving on January 2. The property is beautiful and brand new. We had an easy check in and got a swim out room which was really nice. The service we received was top notch in most situations. The weather was superb with only one day having rain. Overall a decent trip. Our one issue and it’s a big one is the food. Aside from our dinner at Nina which was phenomenal albeit very pricey and our breakfasts at Cassava which were great but also pricey. Every other meal on property was disappointing at best. Cap Cana is a gated community so you’re a bit trapped here unless you take Ubers. We discovered restaurants up by the Marina which were much better priced and were very good. Pro Tip: if you stay here, buy some liquor at duty free or you’re in for 375mL Grey Goose for $150. Pool bar drinks are very expensive. Overall: Great property with some opportunities on the food front.

Went here with my husband and a three month old and a three year-old. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. Feels mid-century modern California vibes. The room was beautiful with great attention to details. We loved the St Regis tradition of Sabering a champagne at 6 PM each day. The restaurants served excellent food with heavy focus on red meat and steak. The only thing I’d say is it was extremely quiet, which is great if that’s what you’re looking for, but it truly felt like the resort was only at maybe 20% capacity with the size versus guest count. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a high-end luxury experience.

Stayed at the St. Regis Cap Cana in October 2025 and everything was flawless — impeccable butler service, spacious, elegant room with breathtaking ocean views. The private beach was a bit unsightly due to recent hurricanes, but was cleaned every morning. Dining was exceptional, the staff anticipated every need with warm professionalism, and the beach bar and restaurant manager Loris and his staff especially stood out. The bartenders at the St. Regis bar were among the best mixologists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, especially Javier. A luxurious, relaxing escape I highly recommend.

I went to the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort for eight nights at the beginning of December with my wife and two adult children. The hotel opened in May 2025 and it admittedly is still working out some very minor glitches. For example, because the hotel is so new, the hotel is dealing with some minor punch list items. With that said, the hotel is wonderful and will rightfully take its place among the best in Punta Cana/Cap Cana and in the St. Regis system. The hotel picked us up at the airport and brought us to the hotel. The physical structure of the hotel was spectacular - interior and exterior. The lobby exuded modern elegance. From the get go, the staff was accomodating and professional. The check in was seamless. We were taken to two connecting rooms with ocean views. The rooms were ultra hi tech and had many gadgets and gizmos to make life more convenient. The rooms were first class. The room balconies were well furnished and quite comfortable and were a good place to gaze at the ocean. The hotel had two very nice, large pools (some rooms had their own private pools). Pool service was excellent. Getting a drink or food was an easy task. Samuel, a bartender at the beach bar, made one of the best pina coladas I have ever had - ice, coconut cream, fresh pineapple slices and white rum were put in a blender and then poured in a glass. The full glass was topped off with a puddle of dark rum. Simple but excellent!!! The beach was nice and spread out. Service on the beach was excellent. Some said that when they went into the water the bottom was rocky. I did not notice that. And there was absolutely no one on the beach to bother you like on some islands. The restaurants were all very good - from Nina, the signature restaurant, to Marola Mediterranean Grill and to Cassava, a restaurant that served more casual fare and where the breakfast buffet took place. That buffet was spectacular - it had everything from hot foods and omelettes, a wide selection of fresh fruits and pastries, meats and chesses, breads and cereals, dried fruits and granola. They also had menu that changed daily that you could order off of. To top it they had a beverage station where you could order cappuccino, mimosas, bloody marys etc. A treat was going to the St. Regis Bar on the lobby level. There is a bartender there named Javier who is world class. He is an artist making drinks - he is meticulous. His drinks have great eye appeal and they taste superb. The treat came when you ordered the Mita Mary, one of several bloody marys on the menu. Javier put ice and all the ingredients in a shaker and shook it. He then transferred the liquid between shakers several times, holding one shaker with the liquid in it up high and the empty shaker down low, pouring the liquid in a steady stream into the empty shaker. He performed this step several times. Javier put on quite a show. To top it off, the Mita Mary is well garnished and is one of the best tasting bloody marys I have ever had. The tric

My wife and I just returned from the St. Regis Cap Cana, and while our stay itself was absolutely incredible, our experience leading up to the trip was mixed. Originally, we had planned a trip in May, splitting our time between the St. Regis Cap Cana and the newly opening W Hotel Cap Cana, both Bonvoy properties. We had secured excellent opening rates at both hotels. Unfortunately, about a week before departure, we were notified that the W’s opening had been pushed back by a month. To preserve the experience of visiting both hotels, we postponed our trip. To make the most of our originally planned dates, we pivoted last minute to the Edition Riviera Maya, another Bonvoy property. They were exceptionally accommodating, tailoring a package on short notice and handling all our last minute requests smoothly, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a wonderful experience (I’ve left a separate review for them). Fast forward to Christmas, we decided to revisit Punta Cana. The W Hotel was kind enough to allow us to retain our original opening rates and apply them to later dates, which made rebooking easier. Since we typically like to travel in December, Christmas was ideal. We also wanted to add a few nights at the St. Regis Cap Cana, as we had missed out in May. During the Christmas rebooking, our experience with the St. Regis in-house reservations team, specifically Karen Cueto King, was disappointing. Despite being loyal Bonvoy members and having experienced an inconvenience with another Bonvoy property (the W Hotel), she was unbending and insensitive to our situation. Communication was slow, and the tailored package we requested ended up being identical to — and sometimes higher than — publicly available rates. The only concession offered was an “upgrade,” which was the same room category one floor higher, even though the hotel appeared to be operating at roughly 40% occupancy. Given the circumstances, I’m sure they could have done a little more to accommodate us. Thankfully, once we arrived, the resort itself exceeded expectations. The property is brand new, beautifully located within the gated Cap Cana community, and just a short drive from the airport. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re entering a special and thoughtfully designed space. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and felt brand new — with comfortable beds, spa-like bathrooms, and thoughtful touches throughout. Housekeeping was consistent and detail-oriented. The beach and pool areas were outstanding. They never felt overcrowded, chairs were always available, and service was attentive without being intrusive. The beach is beautiful, well-maintained, and ideal for those seeking a calm, upscale atmosphere. The dining was excellent across the resort. Breakfast at Cassava was a highlight, thanks to the food and the exceptional service from Ronny, Julio, Jensy, and Alexis. On the beach, Ravel, Martha, and Christian went above and beyond to make our e

The St Regis Cap Cana was exceptional. From the restaurants to the service was A1. The St Regis bar, with mixologist Javier Rodriguez, was truly an experience from someone who masters their craft (try one of his smoked old-fashioneds!). What a great Thanksgiving experience with family.

The resort itself is stunning. There are hard-working individuals across staff that go out of their way to deliver exceptional service. But the attention of management leaves something to be desired, significantly below St. Regis standards. There were a few requests and issues that we had to call 3-4 times in order to get any service and only on the last day did management even attempt to address the inconvenience.
